This informative and practical course is delivered by Claire Hubbard, an experienced and currently practising Year 2 teacher (32 years) and KS1 and KS2 Moderator for many years. It is designed to support Key Stage One Leaders, Key Stage One teachers, HLTAs and teaching assistants with the end of Key Stage One assessment for 2021. The training will support staff in the preparation and efficiency of collating secure judgments to assess Reading, Writing and Maths, alongside internal moderation.

Course Content

  • Planning for Teacher Assessment for Reading, Writing and Maths at Key Stage One
  • Internal Moderation procedures and practice
  • Pre-Key Stage Assessments
  • Evidence collection ideas and activities to show attainment
  • A huge bank of resources to support Key Stage One Assessment

A wealth of resources to choose from are included in the price of the course linked to Maths, Reading and Writing. Many of these are, or have been used personally during the moderation processes at Claire’s own school, with other teachers she has moderated, or simply during the current day to day teaching and learning in KS1.  These resources are not expected to be used, but are a starting point for any teacher wanting new or different ideas to meet the Teacher Assessment Frameworks (TAFs) at the end of Key Stage One.

All external moderation by Local Authorities is now cancelled for 2021, but teacher assessments will still need to be secure for those children entering KS2.  This course will highlight any gaps in learning that the next teacher can focus on, particularly as a result of Lockdowns and isolation periods during this academic year.
