Description

This informative and practical course is delivered by Claire Hubbard, an experienced (33+ years) and currently practising teacher and  KS1 and KS2 Moderator Manager. It is designed to support Key Stage Two Leaders, Year Six teachers, HLTAs and teaching assistants with the end of Key Stage Two Moderation requirements in line with the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) for June 2025. The training will support staff in the preparation and efficiency of collating evidence to make secure judgement assessment of writing alongside internal and external moderation and the processes involved.  This course is suitable for anyone needing a moderation evidence refresher or those new to Year Six.

Course Content

  • Planning for Teacher Assessment for Writing at Key Stage Two
  • Internal and External Moderation procedures and practice
  • Current Assessment and Reporting Arrangements and Guidance
  • Pre-Key Stage Assessments
  • Evidence collection in detail
  • Resources to support Key Stage Two Assessment

A wealth of resources to choose from are included in the price of the course linked to Writing. These resources are not expected to be used, but are a starting point for any teacher wanting new or different ideas to meet the Teacher Assessment Framework for Writing (TAF) at the end of Key Stage Two.

The original course, Moderation for the end of KS2, explains the processes and legal requirements involved in external moderation.
