Description
Deep Dives – every OFSTED inspector will conduct a deep dive into reading in collaboration with senior leaders. This will look deeply into a school’s reading provision, which involves gathering evidence on the curriculum intent, implementation and impact of the subject in collaboration with leaders, teachers and pupils. The intent of the deep dive is to seek to interrogate and establish a coherent evidence base on the quality of an educational setting’s reading education.
This course is designed to support Senior School Leaders and English Subject Leaders with reviewing the reading deep dive section of the OFSTED inspection. Each area will be investigated thoroughly, with evidence collected to really assess the quality of education. It reviews the knowledge and understanding needed to teach reading along with the application of the use of reading. It explores the materials available that may be used in teaching reading; how to ensure curriculum consistency and coverage; routine assessment and the necessity for all to be thoroughly involved in implementation.
Many resources are included in the price of the course that are completely unique to ‘The Teach Hub’, including our Whole Class Reading structures, auditing staff knowledge, whole class and individual assessment grids, coverage grids and some Long Term reading journey overviews. We include a set of questions that may be asked by the inspectors during a ‘Deep Dive’ inspection process.
