Course Leader: Claire Hubbard
Claire is a highly experienced and knowledgeable Primary English Consultant, currently working in many counties and internationally, supporting numerous schools. She works as both a Key Stage One and Key Stage Two Moderator and has supported many schools in this role. She is the Managing Director of ‘The Teach Hub’ – a Primary Teaching online and resource company, and she regularly delivers varied Primary English training to schools. She is also a part-time intervention teacher for local primary school children.
‘The Teach Hub’ provides a host of tried and tested editable resources to support each delivered course.
Course Overview
This informative and practical training session will support Primary School Teaching Assistants to teach reading through interventions, to the lower 20% of achievers in the Primary School. The aim is to provide staff with guidance about how to ensure children achieve a good grasp of decoding and fluency to become independent readers in late KS1 and in KS2. The training will give a range of practical activities and resources to enhance the teaching and learning of reading with meaning and understanding.
