This informative and practical course is designed to support teachers, Phase Leaders and English Subject leaders.
This course is led by Jenni Sadler – Jen is an experienced teacher, who has taught in both Key Stage 1 and 2. Currently, she is Lead Practitioner, leading CPD and support for recently qualified teachers and ECTs. Jen currently teaches part-time in Upper Key Stage Two and also leads an English team across her own school. She has written English resources for The Teach Hub and delivers English training alongside Claire Hubbard.
Course Content
During this course, we will explore how to build non-fiction texts into reading and writing, discussing how to use them to promote reading for pleasure and as a teaching tool. We will unpick high-quality texts that can be used across KS1 and KS2 in order to promote vocabulary growth and inspiration for writing. Advice on non-fiction choices will be included in the course.
