Description

Whole Class Reading resources and planning for Year 5 in a zip file based on Louis Sachar’s ’There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom’ book.

This unit is based on the first 5 chapters of the book.  It is hoped that the pupils will be encouraged to read on based on the powerful presentation of facts and questions that need answering at the beginning of the text.

In this pack you will find 2 x whole class lessons (an hour-long for each – or you can split them), an editable PowerPoint presentation, the task sheets and detailed planning that we use to show evidence in inference, retrieval, prediction, clarification, summarising and vocabulary work.  These resources will show evidence for a number of reading skills at different abilities and will help to assess the reading skills of your class. You will need to purchase the book to complete this unit.
