Description
Year 5 – A set of 8 editable oral reading skills per week for 7 weeks – based on a single paragraph from an age appropriate text (PowerPoint). Each reading domain is used to revise the skills from one week to the next. Skills (one for each slide) include: visualisation, vocabulary, prediction, clarification, inference, retrieval, summarising and sequencing.
We have ordered the reading domains based on which skills we feel would be the most appropriate, but they can easily be manouvered around. These will prepare your Year 5 cohort well for the reading skills needed for the first half term of Year 6 Autumn A, where they need to find answers to questions and also one or two pieces of evidence.
We use these as warm ups to enhance our reading lessons, or at any time we have a free moment to keep those skills sharp!
