Description
Support KS1 and KS2 Spellings using phonics
Six progressive and cumulative phonic and spelling charts (Charts 1 to 6) for each phase linked to Letters and Sounds. Phonic Phases 2 to 6 and through KS2 up to Year 6 are used. Each chart shows the graphemes that need to be taught in each phase linked to Year groups and the linked National Curriculum spelling requirements.
The charts link to many decodable books including Rising Stars and Collins Big Cats Phonics.
Chart 1 – Phase 2 Reception
Chart 2 – Phase 2, 3 and 4 (Split into Chart 2a, 2b and 2c) Reception
Chart 3 – Reading and Spelling Charts -Phase 2, 3, 4 and 5 (Year 1) linked spelling patterns at Y1

With many of the more complex alternative graphemes in the spelling requirements in Lower and Upper Key Stage Two, it is important to show how these link in with the Phonic Phases taught in Key Stage One. Each chart is printable on a Word document for children to use at their desks when writing independently.
Additional graphemes have been added to the Upper Key Stage Two chart to accommodate the silent letters and range of spelling patterns linked to phonics at this level.
Each chart from Year 1 to Year 5/6 is also accompanied by a unique picture grapheme chart linked to the units of work, where each grapheme has its own icon.
