SKU: TTH51LRRH Categories: ,

Whole Class Reading resources and planning for Year 1 in a zip file based on Bev Evans’ retelling of the Traditional Tale, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ focusing on inference and sequencing. An ideal unit to use to retell this traditional tale and to compare it to other versions.

In this pack you will find 2 x ‘Whole Class’, full and detailed lessons plans ready to use (the lessons being an hour long each – or you can split them to teach in shorter sessions throughout the week), an editable PowerPoint presentation; vocabulary focus throughout; the task sheets with scaffolding support at two levels and the texts all ready to print. These resources will support the teaching of reading at different abilities and will help to assess the reading skills of the pupils.

Please note that for our KS1 units, we provide a text extract that differs from the actual text. It is against copyright to take and reproduce the text/pictures directly from a published book, so we always try to use our texts for the units based on the original. We always recommend that teachers have at least one copy of the text and read the original text with their pupils, then switch to the amended version that is based on the original. For this unit, the text in included in the product downloads as a PowerPoint. Please donate a small donation on the Communication4all website when downloading this text, in respect to Bev and her surviving husband and children, to help with the hosting and upkeep of the website.
